Austrian Bass Christoph Seidl<\/strong><\/a>, who relocated from the G\u00e4rtnerplatztheater Munich to the Aalto-Theater in Essen this summer, mounts the stage of his new artistic home: As prison governor Frank in Johann Strauss\u2019 \u201cFledermaus\u201d<\/a>, he is in the right place to spread a little Austrian flair around.<\/p>\n

Only a few short weeks after the first evening of the operetta\u2019s run, Mr. Seidl will invite his public into the opera\u2019s foyer for a lied recital<\/a> with works by Loewe, Schubert, Saint-Sa\u00ebns, Vaughan Williams, and Hugo Wolf, presenting a different aspect of his art.<\/p>\n
