Austrian mezzo\u00a0Sophie Rennert<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0had a stellar success as Angelina in Rossini\u2019s \u201cLa Cenerentola\u201d in Mannheim last year; now she returns tot he stage of the Nationaltheater Mannheim for Rameau\u2019s\u00a0\u201cHippolite et Aricie\u201d<\/a>, where she undertakes to play Ph\u00e8dre in a production staged by Lorenzo Fioroni and conducted by Bernhard Forck.<\/p>\n

While the rehearsals in Mannheim hit their stride, Ms Rennert will visit the G\u00f6ttinger Handelfestspiele; intendent Tobias Wolff has invited her to the\u00a0\u201cHandel-Talk\u201d<\/a>\u00a0in Bremer\u2019s Weinkellerei, where she will chat about Handel and everything else\u00a0\u2013 and offer a small, musical, appetizer for Handel\u2019s \u201cSerse\u201d.<\/p>\n
