As part of the Klavierfr\u00fchling Deutschlandsberg<\/a>, Sophie Rennert<\/strong><\/a> and pianist Sascha El Mouissi<\/strong> perform works by Faur\u00e9, Debussy, Sch\u00f6nberg, and Richard Strauss, concentrating on the threshold connecting the 19th and 20th centuries.<\/p>\n

A few days later, Ms. Rennert will grace Lower Austria\u2019s renowned music center of Grafenegg with her mezzosoprano, as she sings in Bach\u2019s Johannes-Passion<\/a> with the Nieder\u00f6sterreichische Tonk\u00fcnstler Orchestra conducted by Johannes Spering.<\/p>\n

For the first of her two performances at the Schubertiade<\/a>, she and theorbist David Bergm\u00fcller<\/strong> have chosen a programme under the title \u201cMorire d\u2019Amore\u201d; it presents already-strong women from Baroque operas who gain in strength and power.<\/p>\n

Her second presentation, just a few days later, builds a great arc from Brahms via Schubert and Takemitsu right up to Kit Armstrong. For this recital, Ms. Rennert is joined by baritone Benjamin Appl, Barbara Buntrock (viola), and composer Kit Armstrong at the piano.<\/p>\n
