The first concert of the new season features William Walton\u2019s one-act opera\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/musikverein.at\/konzert\/?id=00109c78\"><em>The Bear<\/em><\/a>\u00a0preceded by a quintet by Heinrich Kaminski and an octet by Arnold Bax. Walton described the opera, which is based on a comedy by Anton Chekhov, as an \u201cExtravaganza in One Act\u201d.
