His performances of all Mahler symphonies and his Beethoven cycle with various orchestras in China, for example, are legendary. Most recently, in June of this year, he conducted Prokofiev\u2019s Second Piano Concerto and Fifth Symphony in Beijing and Guangzhou to great acclaim, marking the 135th anniversary of the composer\u2019s birth.
