Sophie Rennert<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0transitions from her previous role as the lovesick Ruggiero in Handel\u2019s\u00a0Alcina<\/em><\/a>\u00a0to the disappointed and vengeful Donna Elvira in Mozart\u2019s\u00a0Don Giovanni<\/em><\/a>. Rub\u00e9n Dubrovsky, the chief conductor of G\u00e4rtnerplatztheater, leads the revival of Herbert F\u00f6ttinger\u2019s 2017 production. Shortly afterwards, Sophie Rennert will reprise her role as Charlotte in Massenet\u2019s\u00a0Werther<\/em><\/a>, which she debuted last season. Prior to that, she will once again perform as\u00a0Carmen<\/em><\/a>\u00a0in a production that the S\u00fcddeutsche Zeitung described as \u201cBizet\u2019s opera classic with a spectacular Sophie Rennert\u201d. This performance celebrates the 150th anniversary of the world premiere of\u00a0Carmen<\/em>\u00a0on March 3, 1875.<\/p>\n
