German soprano\u00a0Katharina Ruckgaber<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0was recently celebrated at the Bregenz Festival for her role as \u00c4nnchen in Carl Maria von Weber\u02bcs\u00a0\u201cDer Freisch\u00fctz\u201d<\/a>, a production by Philipp St\u00f6lzl conducted by Enrique Mazzola, now available on DVD and Blu-Ray. Starting in late October, she will present a rather different facet of her talent at the\u00a0Klagenfurter Stadttheater<\/a>: in the female lead role of Beppi in Gerd K\u00fchr\u02bcs opera\u00a0\u201cStallerhof\u201d<\/a>, first premiered in 1988, based on Franz Xaver Kroetz\u02bcs play of the same name. The work addresses, with unflinching honesty, silence in rural communities, social constraints, and the unbridled yearning for love of the unloved individual.<\/p>\n
