Italian tenor Matteo Macchioni, undoubtedly one of the best Rossini tenors of our time, ventures for the first time into a role in the German language: At the Teatro Filarmonico di Verona, he makes his debut as Monostatos in Wolfgang Amadé Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte” under the musical direction of Gianna Fratta.
