Devid Cecconi, baritone

Born in Firenze in 1971, the baritone Devid Cecconi won the First Prize of the Concorso Mattia Battistini right after his studies in 2006.
 
That same year he made his debut as Rigoletto at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste under the baton of Daniel Oren. In 2007 he sang Michele in "Il Tabarro" at the Teatro Comunale di Modena and also performed the role when this production was presented in Piacenza and Ferrara.

Daniel Oren also engaged him at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova as Don Carlo di Vargas in "Forza del Destino", the Festival in Caracalla/Rome saw him as Tonio in "I Pagliacci" (Director: Beppe Menegatti). He then was invited to the Teatro Verdi Salerno to do  Rigoletto (Conductor: Gianpaolo Bisanti, Director: Renzo Giacchieri) and Sharpless in "Madama Butterfly" (Conductor: Daniel Oren). At the theatres of Lucca, Pisa, Livorno, Ravenna, Bolzano, Modena he sang Michele in "Il Tabarro" and the title role of "Gianni Schicchi" (Conductor: Aldo Sisillo); The National Center for the Performing Arts in Mumbai (India) saw him perform Sharpless (Conductor: Johannes Wildner) in the Indian first performance of "Madama Butterfly". He sang the role of Giacomo in "Giovanna d'Arco" at the Verdi-Festival at the Teatro Regio di Parma directed by Gabriele Lavia and under the baton of Bruno Bartoletti, as well as Schicchi in "Gianni Schicchi" again at the theatre in Lecce conducted by Alfonso Scarano.
 
In 2009, Devid Cecconi had big success as Rigoletto at the Opera Festival of St. Margarethen in Austria, a role which he sang again at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova  in Fall. Future engagements include Amonasro ("Aida") and Francesco Foscari in "I due Foscari" in Trieste.
 
Devid Cecconi's repertoire also includes roles like Falstaff, Nabucco, Renato in "Un Ballo in Maschera", Macbeth, Gérard in "Andrea Chenier", Alfio in "Cavalleria Rusticana" and Rodrigo in "Don Carlos".
